The Ministry of Finance’s commuter calculator (Pendlerrechner) works out the distance between your home and your workplace and whether you can reasonably be expected to use public transport. It then shows any commuter allowance (Pendlerpauschale) and commuter euro (Pendlereuro) you’re entitled to.
Print out the result and give it to your employer so it can be taken into account in your payroll – or keep it for your annual tax return.
