power4me: Children are the most precious thing we have
HFP supports power4me, an association that works to prevent violence in families, with business advice and by auditing its annual accounts. power4me wants to help children build self-confidence and trust in themselves, working directly with nurseries and schools.
“There is so much violence against children. You can’t start early enough to give girls and boys real self-confidence,” says Dagmar Koller, the association’s patron.

power4me is a non-profit association dedicated to supportive, preventive work. “Violence and abuse are pressing problems of our time, and prevention is what’s needed now,” explains chair Anita Iberer. “It’s important to show children that only the adult is responsible, that a child is never to blame, and that they have the right to talk about it.”
Every course is built around prevention and building self-confidence: being aware of your own body, trusting your feelings, deciding which kind of touch feels right and from whom – and the right to say “no”. Just as important: being allowed to be loud, to shout and to get help. power4me runs courses for children, teenagers and women, from workshops in nurseries to sessions with primary school classes. A teacher the children know is always there, and parents are informed beforehand at a parents’ evening.
